VET PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE DRIVE
At the 2014 Union League Job Fair, veterans were offered suits, which were tailored and fitted on the spot.
The impact of this offering was so positive for Veterans, their families and our Union League members, that we are sponsoring the 2015 Professional Attire Drive specifically to collect and distribute gently-worn professional attire to our Veteran community.
In 2015, we are pleased to partner with Drexel University, a leader in Veteran education, as our distribution site. The Drexel Alumni Association and the Drexel University Student Veterans Association, are key partners in ensuring the success of our first attire drive. The University has generously provided the venue, at the Bossone Building, on Market Street, between 31st and 32nd Streets. Distribution hours are from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
On May 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Union League members may drop off their cleaned suits, shirts, ties, blouses, belts, shoes and accessories. On May 19, the clothing will be distributed at Drexel, to student veterans from all area colleges, as well as to Veterans from our 40+ vet service organization partners.
The Drexel University Steinbright Career Development Center will spearhead a tie/scarf drive to supplement the attire, further enriching our offering for Veterans and their families.
