Summer Update
The Veterans Initiative is losing no ground over the summer months, with planning and events fully underway. VetSmart’s September 14 day-long professional conference, is already receiving registrations from veterans and family members. Chairman Chris D’Ascenzo is pleased to report that Drexel University is the Gold Sponsor for the event. VetSmart’s boots on the ground members include Susan Aldridge, Col. Philip DeHennis, who is also representing the Armed Services Council, Steve Hashem, Tony Contino, Jon Connolly, Joe DiMaio and Andre McCoy, who is also representing Partner American Legion #405.

In veteran non-profit news, members Chris Meek and Marc Morgenthaler of SoldierSocks, welcomed Navy Seal Rorke Denver and Jon Runyan as speakers to a sold-out event June 9. Members and guests were honored to see a demonstration of an exoskeleton that enables paralyzed veterans to walk again. SoldierSocks is dedicated to helping veterans take their next steps in life.
